Liebeter

Okay So i've been nominated for this award twice! Whaaaat? Thanks Allie and Emily! Y'all must be crazy to want to nominate me, but I will take it, and I will say Thank you :)

So here are the rules:
- post 5 random facts about yourself
- choose 5 other deserving blogs with less than 200 subscribers to nominate and link their blogs in your post.
- tell your nominees you have chosen them for this award by leaving a comment on their blogs
- answer the 5 questions the tagger has asked you and ask your own 5 questions to the people you nominate.
- no tag backs.

So lets get started with 5 Random Facts (i'm going to try to think of something i've never talked about):
  • I'm very involved with my church's children's ministry. I love their values and I fully believe in what they teach (God made you, God loves you, and Jesus wants to be your forever friend!)
  • I have a lot more self confidence when I have blonde hair. I don't know why, It makes me feel prettier I guess.
  • Every morning I read by bible, check my email, check my facebook and check blogger. In that order.
  • 2010 was one of the craziest years in my life. I got engaged, a week later my brother died, 6 months later I got married, then I got pregnant!
  • The only way I wont bite my nails is if I have acrylic over them. So every 2 weeks I pamper myself. and I fully think I deserve it ;)
Okay here are Allie's Questions:
What is something we don't know about you? See above!
What is your dream job? To interpret Sign Language for Kids.
What is your favorite thing about blogging? Looking back and remembering.
If I could give you a plane ticket to anywhere, where would you go? Hawaii!
What's your favorite meal? Momma's Chicken and Rice.
Any pets? No. I am NOT a pet person.
If you won $150,000 how would you spend it? I would donate to my church, then buy a house and fix it up.
What is your favorite picture (please share it with us) and why?

This was taken during our first family vacation and I LOVE it.
What's your favorite room in your house? My bedroom!
Tell us a little about your family... I have a hubby named RB and a 13 month old named Fletch. but y'all know that ;)
What do you consider to be your best quality? I believe i'm generous. I will do anything for you if I can.

Here are Emily's questions:
If you could live anywhere, where would you live? Wilmington, North Carolina. ALWAYS wanted to pick up and move there.
What is your most memorable childhood memory. We had a blizard in GA in '93 and b/c we had no heat we had to go spend a few nights at the fire station (my dad was a firefighter at the time) And on the way home I was with my dad and we hit black ice and we spun around in a 360 a few times. And dad made it fun.
What is your most favorite movie of ALL TIME? Little Mermaid. Hands down.
Which season is your favorite, and why. Fall. No extreme heat, No extreme cold, No pollen and UGA Football.
If you could have one super power what would it be? I'd love to fly!

Okay so i'm tagging....

Michelle @ Foodie Mommy
Montana @ SaraMontana Says

My 5 Questions are: What is your...

Favorite Article of clothing?
Favorite thing to do when you have nothing to do?
Favorite restaurant?
Favorite blog to read?
Favorite social media website?

PS- Today's post was supposed to be about my sweet baby guy and his life lately. I was even going to dress him up and take some current photos but he is one sick baby. (I'm blogging during his much needed nap time) So look forward to that later :)

Double Coronary Bypass

Friday night we left FAR with his Granny and Grannanny and RB and I went on a REAL DATE. Mommies do you remember those? Yeah it's okay, I didn't either. So we got in the car with an empty car seat and away we went!
We met up with my bestie and her hubby to go to dinner @ The Vortex! The Vortex is a famous staple in the ATL and they are famous for their Double Coronary Bypass. What is that exactly?

"Twice as big as the Coronary Bypass! Topped with two fried eggs, siz slices of American Cheese, and eight slices of bacon, all served between the two grilled cheese sandwiches that we use in place of the regular hamburger buns."
 - Taken from the Vortex's Menu

And it looked like this

And see those Tots? Yup they were full of shredded cheese. YUM! And who ate the entire thing?
(Disclaimer: I did not eat all the tots. And Michelle and RB both had bites. And bacon)
Yeah.. that'd be me. And let me tell you. It was a-ma-zing. All that you could imagine and more!!
 Love him ^^^
Michelle & I

And to top it off? The HOT LIGHT was on!

Best date night ever!!!

Glitter Keys Tutorial
with Amanda & Brittany

Glitter Key Inspiration from My Oh My and Glitter Everything Inspiration from I Am Style-ish

Step 1:  Gather and clean your keys.  We wiped ours down with nail polish remover, but rubbing alcohol or good ol' soap and water should work, too.  Make sure they are completely dry before moving onto step 2.

Step 2:  Brush glue onto one side of the key.  We used Elmer's school glue and old paintbrushes.  {On one of the keys we ended up having to wipe off the glue and use clear nail polish for this step because the glue wasn't sticking to the smooth surface of the key.}

Step 3:  Sprinkle on the glitter.  Shake, shake, shake.  Shake, shake, shake.  Shake your glitter!  {Hint:  Lighter color glitters don't show mistakes and missed areas quite as much as the darker color glitters do.}

Step 4:  Let it dry.

Step 5:  Turn the key over and repeat steps 2-4.  You may need a second coat of glue and glitter on each side.  If so, repeat steps 2-5.  Then, let it dry!

Step 6:  After the glue is completely dry, shake off the excess glitter.  Brush on 1 to 2 coats of clear polish per side.  Do one side at a time and let the polish completely dry between coats.

Voila!  Easy to identify glitter keys!

Okay so this is where y'all come in. Link up any DIY post you've done and we will pick a winner who will receive the DIY that will be featured next month!!

Green Juice

Have I ever told you how much I love my husband? Okay I know I have. but seriously my husband gets on these "kicks" of different passions and he researches them (usually via youtube) and desires to spend lots of money on different things (In the past we've purchased   and resold: airsoft stuff, Vibram five finger shoes (he still has those!), different phone cases, different diet plans, etc) Well his latest hobby/passion/crazy is juicing. Thankfully while talking to Michelle's hubby about how he was wanting to buy a juicer D told him that he has one he can borrow and borrow he did. He then sent me to the grocery store with a list of the ingredients of Green Juice...
and when I got home, we juiced

 the yuckies
 Enjoying my juice
Fletch loved it!

Green Juice: (the origional recipe)
Kale
Celery
Cucumber
Lemon
Green Apple
 (We added: Blueberries & Strawberries)
And you know what? It wasn't even half bad... There may be hope yet for me and healthy eating....

probally not. Pass the cookies.

PS- Pink on the Cheek is having an amazing giveaway! 29 prizes 1 winner. And although I want it to be ME you should try to enter too!! Click here

Breakfast, a Pedicure and a Giant Cucumber...

.... Now that's what I call a GREAT weekend! Hi dolls! How was everyone's weekend? This weekend was crazy! I don't think we stopped moving!

Friday... With the help of Michelle and Alex (Stacy's husband) I threw a surprise birthday party for my sweet friend Stacy! It went great but they only picture I got was me making cupcakes. How lame am I? But Stacy was so surprised and I stuffed myself silly with spinach dip so it was a win all around :) Fletcher went home with his daddy and got a power nap and was awake by the time I got home... then he decided to have a diaper party at 11pm! #fail #onetiredmomma
Saturday... My mom treated RB, FAR, and I to breakfast at the new Covington Diner. And I was impressed! Fletcher had a Mickey Mouse pancake bigger than his head and the building (former Shoney's turned into a Chinese buffet) Was clean and different! We will defiantly be going back, plus they are open 24 hrs on the weekend. Not that that matters to me because frankly i'm asleep by 10.
Then I got an amazing pedi
(Do you see my tan lines on my feet from my flip flops. Totally from cutting grass!)
After this we took Fletcher to meet his best friend. My son fell in love with Larry the Cucumber. (If your thinking what is this crazy talking about, click here) Oh my word. If Fletcher had his way we would of loaded up giant Larry and brought him home. (We did leave with a Larry movie and a Noah's Ark with Larry as Noah) Fletcher climbed up RB to look at Larry when we were not talking to him and had a COW when we had to leave Larry at the store.

When we got home my sweet sweet cousin Brit came over and we she designed my new blog design! And I also made the plunge and became talesfromfar.com Wahoo!!

Sunday... I woke up with Sinus junk and Fletcher had a teething fever so we stayed home from church and had a relaxing day with family :)  And ended the night with the #pfchat with Passionfruit Ads Fletch helped :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

PS- I voted in the   2012 LEEIB Bloggie Awards  and you should too! Click here
